Cairo 2 – All roads lead to Tahrir

Second day in Cairo started relatively late. But better later than never. After visting Horija bar night before, which is serving to all artists, writers, poets, bohemians.. like some  kind of a gathering spot, where they demolish – with a beer can in the hand – their last pieces of their reasonable minds. So the day couldn’t start other way then really really late. But it ended up semi-productive anyway. I didn’t except this to happen 🙂

At giving a call to really good fellow i met that day, activist with very wide knowledge about foreign politics, he notified me about some demonstrations in Tahrir square. Demonstrations were held against new, in the words of protestors: “corrupted and untrustworhty” figures in the political spots. On the highlight it was the new candidate for the position of foreign minister. Nabil Fahmy who is part of the old Mubarak’s garrisson and ex US ambassador in Egypt. Also protesters were demanding release or trial on a civil court instead of the military one, to the protesters detained while protesting at revolution and also 15th of May, during the Nakba commemoration.

With Erik and Andy, we mixed ourselves into the shouting, overwhelmed by patriotism, but not agressive crowd, i took some photos, and got some really interesting info from Ahmad. As afternoon was turning to evening, again i had to head back to hotel room, jumping into a comfortable bed to take a nap while listening to constant honking and shouting below the window.

“0-1-2-5-R-E-V-O-L-U-T-I-O-N”

Next day was totally crazy. How not, again it involved Horija and after that, we joined some cool people on rather some senseless boat trip which i unintentionally ruined with my dick, because captain of the boat didn’t let me piss into the river. Come on, the polluted Nile river and time was somewhere around 1AM.  Ah anyway, highlight of that boat trip on Nile was guy who was getting tapped on his shoulder, and after that he had to guess who in the crowd taped him. Shit, some people should really use drugs.
